Literature Text

Madame Giry wore a mask of innocence
that covered the secrets she knew,
Carlotta one of importance,
though she was jealous through and through.
Raoul dressed up in confidence,
though inside he felt threatened,
The Persian fabricated hatred,
though he was the Phantom's friend.
Erik was not the only one who wore a mask to disguise,
everyone in that opera house had at least one thing to hide.
Yet, because his was visible,
he received the scorns and jives,
But don't we all wear masks at some point in our lives?
More phantom stuff. Even if you have no idea who these people are, the last line is the moral. :)
